HEAVY METAL IN LEBANON
The World Metal Congress will be Live from Lebanon on Tuesday, November 24th with JP Haddad (Kimaera), Anthony Kaoteon (Kaoteon, Death Tribe) and Derek Roddy (Serpents Rise, Nader Sadek, Khavar).
In a round-table discussion hosted by WMC co-founders Alexander Milas and Lina Khatib, we’ll be exploring heavy metal in Lebanon and the unique challenges faced by musicians there, with a group of local and international luminaries active in the Lebanese metal scene.
To kick-off the discussion, we’ll be exploring the symbolism of Kimaera’s Ya Beirut cover in context of recent troubles in Lebanon, the backlash the cover created and the role that heavy metal plays in inspiring social change locally as well as international awareness on the world stage. We will also be finding out more about local talent in this thrilling and diverse scene.
Tune into our Youtube channel at 19:00 GMT for our livestream, and we encourage you to join in the discussion: https://www.youtube.com/worldmetalcongress
